SPECIAL BRANCH WOOD CARVING
Over two days John Hayes, Woodcarver extraordinaire, will carry out wood carving demos, using chainsaws, and other specialist tools at the Ballybricken Fair. John is well known on the international wood carving scene and regularly travels the world to represent Ireland at international carving competitions. John’s carvings can be found around Waterford and the world. Most notably his world record breaking creation ‘Dragonslayer’, the longest ever sculpture from a single piece of wood can be seen on display in the Viking Triangle.
AGRI AWARE MOBILE FARM
The agri-food educational body, Agri Aware, are delighted to be at Harvest Festival 2019 with their Mobile Farm. Agri Aware’s mission is to “improve the image and understanding of Agriculture, Farming and the Food industry among the general public”. Agri Aware achieve this via a host of interactive initiatives and educational programmes.
Come along Saturday and Sunday and meet some farm animals as they visit the Harvest Festival. Agri Aware are also well known for their “Butter Discos” where kids learn to churn as they dance, so when you hear the music head for the farm!

Here’s your chance to get an insight into the ancient art of falconry, become familiar with these amazing birds and learn the important role they play in their natural habitat. There will be a variety of birds on display including owls and hawks, and you might even get the chance to hold them if you’re lucky.
Everybody loves a good fairground ride, so pop up to Ballybricken at Harvest and have a go on some of your favourite childhood fairground rides. There will be attractions suitable for kids of all ages, the perfect thing to brighten up your day
