About GIY Street Feast

‘Together we Eat’, let’s make Waterford the Local Food Capital of Ireland.

Michael Quinn, Waterford Castle’s Head Chef, cooks a GIY Street Feast in association with Waterford Harvest Festival.

Waterford Castle executive head chef, Michael Quinn, is the mastermind behind this unmissable street feast of local food, which will bring 750 people together to break bread and celebrate the harvest in Bolton Street in the city. Your ticket (just €28.50) gets you a glass of locally-produced sparkling champagne on arrival and then a seasonal four-course meal.  For your main course choose from locally-reared free range bacon, mouth watering beef or lamb, freshly caught fish from Dunmore East or smoked trout from Kilkenny – or maybe try a bit of each!  All the sides and trimmings are locally grown or produced.  The feast ends with a dessert of stewed seasonal fruits and local yoghurt, and then a spread of local artisan cheeses and chutneys.  As befitting a GIY event, vegetarian options are available.  Entertainment will include live music and special guests! Join us for what will be an unmissable harvest feast.  Tickets are just €28.50 and available from www.giyireland.com or the Theatre Royal Box Office.

Every area in Ireland can produce a plate of food to identify itself. We are inviting the people of Waterford to come make their city the local food capital of Ireland! ‘Home-grown and local food tastes better and gives you an appreciation of the seasons. The harvest is a gift of the hard work of the year, so let’s celebrate!’ says Mick Kelly, CEO of GIY.

Be part of putting the culture back into agriculture, and come join us at the GIY Street Feast in association with The Waterford Harvest Festival. Tickets for the event only 28.50 Euro, including one free drink.

Arrival time 7pm, Bolton Street Car Park
