A gastro-tourism experience that forges a connection with visitors and reconnects locals with their city while adding a cultural vibrance to the city-centre.
This tour gives tour-goers a sense of time, taste and place- blending Waterford’s historical events and social stories with contemporary food products, producers and businesses.
Waterford is Ireland’s oldest city, we will meander from the quayside to off-the-beaten-track areas and meet with friendly independent café and gastropub staff to hear about their product offerings and food stories. Y
our guide will lead you through a Medieval Quarter of cobbled streets and city walls, pass by historical buildings and wander down ancient laneways.
Then we'll continue through the Cultural Quarter surrounded by a vibrant street art scape, stopping along the way to enjoy the famous Waterford blaa.

Sarah Keane is a folk-pop artist born and raised by the Atlantic coast in Co. Mayo. As a solo performer with an acoustic guitar, she is recognised for her powerful vocals, unique story-telling ability and enchanting performances.
Sarah explores themes such as friendship, family, love and loss in her inimitable style. Her songs feel as much like a collection of stories as it does music, somehow making the everyday and ordinary feel poignant and nostalgic.
Sarah’s distinctive vocals, accompanied by keys and guitar and layered with orchestral elements, have combined to leave the listener feeling what it really means to be human.

Get ready to experience the rich textures of Irish-influenced folk/rock as Scáthach takes the stage! Blending powerful vocals with the haunting sounds of mandolin, banjo, violin, and bouzouki, this up-and-coming band is crafting a sound that’s both fresh and rooted in tradition.
After months in the studio perfecting their debut album, Scáthach is ready to break out in a big way. Lead singer Taylir Lily Butler says the band is “primed for the festival scene,” and all eyes are on 2026 as their breakout year.

Children's author Marianne McShane presents a menu of tasty stories about apples, gooseberries, gingerbread girls, and a hungry cat who gobbles up everything in sight!
Marianne McShane is a children’s author and storyteller from Bangor, Co. Down whose work, both writing and storytelling, is inspired by the richness of Irish legend and folklore.
Her debut picture book, Rónán and the Mermaid, was named a Best Book of 2020 by The Arts Council of N. Ireland. The Fog Catcher’s Daughter was longlisted for the Yoto Carnegie Medal for Illustration 2023.
Marianne is an accomplished storyteller and has told tales to audiences of all ages, at schools, libraries and festivals. A former children’s librarian, with many years working in a primary school, she loves nothing more than seeing kids mesmerised by a magical story and clamouring to get their hands on a good book.

Dwyer’s Restaurant ran for 15 years from 1989 to 2004 on Mary Street in Waterford City. Established by Martin Dwyer as both restaurant and family home, it quickly became a success due to the enthusiastic reception of locals and outside critical acclaim, including in the Good Food Guide.
Martin started working as a chef in 1972 and became a member of Euro-Toques in 1995, serving as Commissioner General in 2006 and 2007 (and presented a much younger Peter Everett with the Young Chef of the Year in 2005!). In December 2006 Martin and his wife Sile bought an old presbytery in the Languedoc in France to run a bed and breakfast.
Martin and Sile have now returned home to Waterford and Everett's is delighted to host our harvest lunch in honour of the restaurant that was a firm favourite of the people of Waterford for many years. The lunch will consist of three courses curated by Martin and prepared by Peter and team with aperitif and wine pairings from Wines Direct.
Cost inclusive of wine pairings €75, payment will be taken in advance.

DEREK WARFIELD & THE YOUNG WOLFE TONES

In 2001, after nearly 40 years performing, the legendary Wolfe Tones parted with their founder and leader – Derek Warfield. No other Irish folk group, before or since, told the story of Ireland so completely and unapologetically.
But for Derek’s hunger and desire to continue to further the story of Ireland through song, an ancient tradition might have lost perhaps its most iconic figure.
In 2008 Derek put together a band containing some of the finest musicians and singers in Irish music – The Young Wolfe Tones.
